I HATE ejami. I despise that couple to the very depths of my soul.
Why?
I'm not a Sami and Lucas fan, I'm not even a Sami fan. This goes beyond fictional characters on a TV show. Let me explain.
Because the entire Ejami story line with E.J. raping Sami (yea it was rape. I don't care what the rabid Ejami fans say) and then perusing her endlessly and forcing her to marry him perpetuates the old myth that if a man is persistent enough he WILL win over the woman he desires. No mater what she says, no matter what she does, no matter how emphaticaly she tells him she isn't interested in him, he will "win her over". Why does this upset me? Because what it is basically saying that "no" does not mean "no" when a woman says it. When a woman says "no" she really means "yes" or she is just confused or in denial or she doesn't realise that deep down she really does love the guy or whatever. It's this kind of thinking that puts women in danger. Women get annoyed, harrased, stalked, attacked, raped and sometimes even murdered because a man simply refuses to take no for an answer. I'm not saying that anyone is going to get hurt because Samy and E.J. are togeather, but Days is perpetuation that myth through Ejami, and any show that would do such a thing ios a show that I can in no way support. So yeah, screw Ejami and screw Days of our lives.

A lot of people are annoyed with the endless "Going Green" storyline. I can understand that, but this is nothing new to Days. "Days Of Our Lives" has ALWAYS had a history of getting obsessed with a particular trend and then beating the viewers over the head with it for weeks, months, years, etc. until new writers come on and change pick a new trend to shove down our throats.
A perfect example was a couple of years ago when "Days" suddenly became a "religious show". Days was fairly balanced and then "poof!" suddenly every character is a devout Christian (including Celeste?!) and half of every show took place in the church with all the characters praying or talking about "God this, Jesus that, etc., etc..." I remember it got so overly religious that the show did the whole "Mimi had an abortion so God punished her by making her sterile, having her fiancee dump her, and then get plagued by visions of the Virgin Mary!" Talk about one-sided!
I'm not against religion, but I'm just pointing out there is always SOME TREND the writers are gonna preach about.
Anyways, when the religios writers eventually left, the religious storlines toned down and the new writers brought in the whole "Going Green" trend.
I'm sure in a few months there will be new writers who will be shoving some new trend down our throats....

I love Sami and EJ, they are my
favorite characters.When they come on
I listen up and pay attention.
Theres an exciting tension, suspense
thing going on,sort of testing how far
is too far.almost threatening,
what will they do next.
However it does seem odd that Sami is
locking lips with the Guy who supposedly Raped her. he raped her and now they are hand in hand together, yeah right.
It seems strange every time I see Hope
with that small child. I mean she's too old for that. She looks more like the kids Grandmother, not mother.
Hope looks good and all, but even she
cannot pull off the young mommy look.
Of course thats proably not the writers
intentions, lots of older people today
are raising small kids.
I've been watching the show for over
20 years and love it!

I am very very very annoyed that Kirsten Storms the original Belle left! She was the best and everyone keeps going on about this Martha someone who is rubbish and cannot fill her shoes. Plus Jason Cook left too and so there is a new shawn and Belle! why are all the good people leaving to go to stupid G.H (General Hospital)? DOOL is a great soap...well it use to be until the standards dropped... please don't replace people if they're not gunna do the job. PLEASE COME BACK KIRSTEN AND JASON!! I LUV YOU!
I agree with you EJ's babymama. I mute the sound whenever EJ and Sami are on together. And I still can't believe that Lucas went to prison for shooting EJ, but EJ has NEVER paid for any of the horrendous things he's done. But the Aug 8 episode capped the week of no return for me. The Stephanie/Max/Melanie storyline is horrible and the actress playing Melanie has a voice like chalk on a blackboard. I had to mute the TV. For the past two years we have been promised over and over that the stories would go back to the core characters and yet, nothing. Instead we had to live through the Jett/ Stephanie/whatever his name was son of Mike Horton. Now the idiot John story and the previously mentioned Stephanie/Max/Melanie. Can any of the powers that be not read? The only time the ratings have improved in the past 2 years is when the storylines focused on John/Marlena, Steve/Kayla, and Bo/Hope. Right now the ratings are in the toilet and I can't see the show surviving beyond the 2009 contract. What a sad end for a 35 year fan.
there have been many moments when this show has jumped in my 12 years of watching this program. But most recently, the thing that I just cannot justify is the fact that the powers that be are still trying to justify this love angle in the story of EJ and Sami! How the heck you fall in love for the man who raped you? to this day sami should be terrified to be around him, or atleast be sick to her stomach with the idea of being near him! but what do i see when i tune in?? her and EJ on the ground playing with the baby's making googly eyes after each other! gimmie a break! how can the writers justify this?!? this is such a slap in the face to rape survivors! i think because of this stupid rape story between sami and EJ, thats why they had done another rape story with Stephanie and that other guy (his name escapes me) and made it far more believable, where as steph was going through all of the emotions and such. and based on what i read today (04Aug08) that the head writer has quit because Ed Scott formerly of Y&R is re-writing the ladies work and is telling the actors to re-write their parts, it just goes to show that the producers and such dont care for what the viewers want, they care for only how they want the stories to be told, no matter how foolish it is! i give this show until the end ot 2009 before its offically cancelled!
I think Days in in jeopardy with the preachy dialogue about the benefits of going green. The character of Roman sounds like he's reading off of cue cards and the words don't even sound like something he would say. I watch soaps to be entertained, not educated.
I love Sami and EJ I was dying just waiting for them to kiss yesterday. He's so hot and one of the reasons I still watch. And did anyone notice the promo during the last commercial break yesterday with Lucas and Chloe together and Morgan and Phillip kissing? Why would they air that already?
I think Days and most soaps were less interesting in the late 80's, for Days around the time Bo and Hope left town, around 1987.
However it jumped when James E. Reilly began writing the show, what he did to Tony's character, the Gina/Hope storyline, please Hope fell in a vat of acid, this isn't Batman and she isn't the joker, all the clones of Marlena (That may not have been him), Marlena being possessed. I think James was worse then Stefano in his obssession with Marlena or Diedre. All the Kristen/Susan/Nun stuff. All terrible, he ruined Days for me anyway.

Shark jump ahead. When Days starts rewriting history they make a mockery of all their fans. The 6/6 episode has the Brady clan toasting the now deceased Shawn Brady and lauding him for his vision and his dream of making the pub "green". Can somebody tell me when that might have been, because the only green Shawn Brady every cared about was green beer!!!!!!
Enough with Saint EJ. And what's up with the babies? One day Ali is a toddler wandering off and the next days she an infant the size of a doll wrapped in a blanket with voice over by a NEWBORN. EJ is a CRIMINAL and has NO rights over Ali because he is NOT her father. They are making Sami out to be a fool and they are going to render her character unredeemable if they don't stop now. I turned yesterday's episode off because it just isn't what I want to see on Days.
I actually started watching this show because of the Marlena possession storyline. It was the funniest thing I had seen in daytime and I was immediately hooked. If I had watched the show before that, this storyline probably would have turned me off, but it's what got me into the show and I have loved it ever since. I do have to agree with the others about the "green" references they keep crowbarring in there. Enough already. NBC has become obsessed with "going green," which is great, but we don't need the message shoved down our throats every afternoon.
Where to start?
-Ejami. I CAN NOT STAND the pairing of rapist and victim, and refuse to watch a show that would condone such a thing.
-The new John. He isn't funny, he isn't entertaining, and he certainly isn't a character to root for. He is just an arrogant jackass, and they should have just left him dead.
-All the environmental messages.
-The good guys getting thrown behind bars if they so much as jaywalk, wail the villains literally get away with murder.
There is a lot more, but that is what I can think of right of the top of my head.

Anyone else sick of the "green" flavor of the month story they are shoving down our throats? If so, let NBC know that you watch soaps for the stories, NOT for propaganda. If I wanted to watch the news, I most certainly am smart enough to turn it on. Instead I turn on my SOAP to see STORIES. Days is about to politically correct itself into cancellation because this is one viewer who has had enough of their replacing character driven stories with environmental issues. Even if I bought into the whole "global warming" garbage (which I DON'T) I certainly wouldn't tune into a soap opera to get informed!!!!!
