Okay, just because you're religious doesn't mean the writers have to be. I'll admit this show is terrible but if it insults your religion, so be it. Chances are, as a Christian, you've insulted a ton of atheists and told random strangers rudely that they're going to hell. Christians tend to be one-minded, conceited, believing their way of life is the only correct one...

Meg bashing is the ONLY thing still funny about this show. I dunno why everyone hates it. The show sucks so badly now, yet everyone being mean to Meg.. haha!

I guess you have to be less of a pu$$y to enjoy that kinda humor. With my group of friends, we have a "Meg" and we all rip on her like that. Classic. Yeah, call us sadistic, but it's funny.

charlie, did you see Play it again Brian? meg was giving Brian a nice compliment on him getting a reward for writing a poem and he stopped and told her he was talking. That really made me so mad. Come Seth and you writers!! You are not the only one Charlie who hates the Meg bashing.

It's a weird one, because the show has a format that is unlikely to jump, by the very nature of the writing which allows pretty much anything to make it into the show- all they have to do is write things that are funny, without having to worry about how it ties in to the story. That said, that same "cut and paste" humour can still be done badly, perhaps too obviously or frequently, at the expense of any sort of plot.

If I had to pinpoint the jump, it would be where I realised how irrelevant the jokes were, and how less and less thought was going into them, and for me, that was the "Giant Chicken" fighting scenes. The fights between Peter and the giant chicken (ROFLMAO RANDOM!!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!) were witless, pointless filler (once took up seven minutes of a show with 22 minutes run time).

The pop-culture references have always pissed me off, but they have been pretty much a constant problem and so don't make for shark jumping.

I think family guy jumped the shark when it started making stewie's character a gay kid in the closet from a evil genious plotting to take over the world and Peter's character from a over the top dad who was a little out of touch to literally a retard. Theres various reasons this show has jumped the shark but for the most part through all its stupidity was still kind of funny untill this last season. They did things like tried to have less cutaways(perhaps because of the southpark thing)killed Lois & Stewie (not really) Gave joe legs and gave Brian a long lost human son. In my opinion every episode of the 6 season had a jump the shark moment.

No its' not drusilla!! I want them to bash somebodyelse for a change. somebody who deserves it more. Meg bashing is cheap and unfunny.

Meg bashing is good. I love Meg bashing. One of the many things that make this classic comedy.

I hate the Meg bashing too Charlie. I hope that she does snap and comes up on top.

It's all the reasons already mentioned

1. Jokes going on way too long (e.g. Stewie teasing the girl after she goes "you are the weakest link, goodbye!")
2. Constant cutaway gags which make no sense (South Park nailed that one)
3. Political soapboxing all the time. I'm pretty liberal, but it's just boring to see the same points hammered into us over and over
4. The Meg bashing. I can't be the only one to find this really annoying. It's really not funny, it's just mean and nasty. Other shows have characters which often serve as punchbags (Grandpa Simpson, Butters in South Park for instance), but they always get occasional victories and the shows still clearly like those characters. Meg is just there to get slated, and it's boring. The bit in one episode where they have an intervention for Brian's cocaine addiction and the psychiatrist interrupts Meg saying "let's move onto someone more interesting", I almost threw something at the screen. Maybe I take it way too seriously, but come on now...

It basically jumped when all this stuff got too ridiculous.

Ever since the show returned to the air after being cancelled, it has sucked! Its like Seth McFarlane figures that he can get away with anything and just does not even try to make decent episodes. The jokes drag on forever and they relies WAY to much on pop culture references.

Atheists get offended by Jesus decorations during religious holidays such as Christmas or Easter, not to mention public prayer, whether outside a state building or not, yet you reproach Steve and other Christians for easily being offended? The pot calling the kettle black!
