This is the fifth time this evening that I have posted a message and it has come down in less than two hours! Oh Brother!
I've got to add to my comments below about Blythe Danner, Cynthia Harris and Hazel Sherment, just to clear things up after I've re-read my comments a few times. I want to make sure that everyone here realizes that I am talking about these beautiful women in a purely non-sexual way! I would never ever ever want to imply any kind of sexual overtone to any of my comments on this page or on any other of the hundreds and thousands of comments I've made around this board that any of those comments about these beautiful ladies are meant in any way to be thought of as sexual in nature! My apologies if anyone has taken them that way, because I most certainly did not mean them to come out that way!

Actually, you should all go over to the Growing Pains page and read the kind comments I have for Kirk Cameron and Christopher Knight over there! And while you're at it, go ahead and visit my wonderful blog at the TV Shows Are My Life website! It's a hoot! I get to go on and on and on all about every TV show that I have ever watched and tell you about every episode that has ever aired! Great stuff!
Over on the "Will and Grace" section of a site called "Sitcoms Online" I started a thread called "Blythe". The last time that I checked this thread had twelve views and "zero" responses! It really amazes me that that page of that site gets so little use! In any event, the main theme of that post was to express how I felt about how good Blythe Danner looks as an older woman. All over that board and this one, I have posted dozens of messages about her as well as two other women that I think look great in their old age! The two other actresses that I am referring to are Cynthia Harris and Hazel Sherment. What do other fans think of any of the above babes?
Thank God other people feel the same way as I do, that Leo was the reason the show jumped the shark. Everything about the show changed once he entered the scene. His character was so boring to me and he had 0 chemistry with Grace. I actually stopped watching the show when he was brought in as it was not the same. The producers must have felt the same way because it was around that time all of the celebrities started popping up more and more frequently. (I did, however, love the Britney episode, one of my favorites)

Woody Harrelson was a great match for Grace and I wish they had brought him back every so often instead of pairing up Grace with Leo. Also, why the NEED to put Grace in a relationship all of the time, but not Will. He had a total of, what, one serious relationship? I know he dated, but Vince was the only actual relationship I can recall him having.

Karen Walker, in my opinion, is the funniest sitcom character ever. Her lines were always memorable and if it hadn't been for her, this show never would have made it past one season, so God bless her!

The finale was disappointing, as Leo was back. I did enjoy the Jack/Karen/Beverly Leslie storyline and also how Jack and Karen ended up living together like an old married couple, it was cute. (it's also how I always imagined things would end with Will and Grace)

I just wish instead of bringing Leo back, they brought back Woody Harrelson, who had great chemistry with everyone on the show.
For a long time, I was desperately seeking the episode in which Grace announced that she had been putting her husband's inflatable neck pillow in between her butt and that toilet seat. I was almost sure that this was the first episode of season five. However, someone that I met on a sign called "Sitcoms Online" informed me that this was originally a supersized episode and was edited down for syndication purposes. It turns out that it was the syndicated version that was put on DVD. I find it ashaimed that this scene was deleted! I thought that what Grace said was halarious!
Im sorry but how its copying seinfeld..you probably saw the same thing or two on both shows and went "OMG ITS A SEINFELD RIP-OFF"..what an illusion
I think that it is very interesting that the last poster made a point about this series, like many other series of the time copying Seinfeld. In my last post which is now two posts before this one, I mentioned the two parter that taught the lesson: be careful what you wish for because you just might get it! One thing that I am going to have to say is that Seinfield is one series in which I do not remember a single episode that included this theme. However, teaching a lesson was never a big stong-point of Seinfeld anyway. In any event, I recently posted a message on the "Flintstones" page of this site in which Harvey Korman's character was always teaching this lesson to Fred and Barney. What do other fans think of that message?
every sitcom copies seinfeld...............so dont just blame will and grace
On March 19th, I posted a message regarding the two-part episode "Someone Old, Someplace New, Something Borrowed, Someone's Due". I told the reader of this post that if he or she is not clear on the moral of this episode, they should simply think back to "The Wizard of Of", "The Country Mouse and the Town Mouse" or just about half of the episodes of "The Flintstones"! Well an event that happened two days ago, makes me feel that now is a very good time to revise this topic. The event that I am talking about and that happened on May 29th is the death of Harvey Korman. He was the voice of the Great Gazoo who was very instrumental in teaching Fred and Barney the same lesson that was taught on the formentioned "Will and Grace" episode. Let us all joined in a prayer for good old Harvey's friends and family!
This show ripped off Seinfeld TIME & TIME again! There should have been some suing going on.
I think this show jumped early on, when it became clear that it would stick for more than half a season. The focus of all the comedy, and I do mean ALL, became the orientation of the characters. I mean, what a pawn, what a COMMODITY. I found it demeaning to watch, like seeing a prostitute walk down the street. Caricatures for political fodder. Sad, really.
I actually thought Michael Douglas was great in the gay cop episode. Its actually one of my favorites. Agreed the Madonna sucked, as did Demi, Geena Davis (who I like usually), Britney, JLo of course...

I LOVE the James Earl JOnes episode. I believe that was season 4?

Agree with the general consensus that Leo was the jumping point. There were some good, even excellent, shows after that, but he just sucked the life out of every scene. Although I did really like the episode where Grace met his parents - but all the credit for that goes to Messing.

Whatever, its still better then Friends any day.
i really didn't start watching the show until the last season and started watching the reruns on another channel and it did jump the last season it was on. i really didn't like the finale cause i'm like will and grace had been FRIENDS FOREVER why stop talking for 20 years?? that made no sense to me and i honestly thought that was the worse ending in history for a show like that.
I think that it is very interesting that the last poster remarked about the two-part episode in which we met Karen's mother. These two episodes together were called "Someone Old, Someplace New, Something Borrowed, Someone's Due". One premise of this situation that I found for more interesting than Karen's mother was the apartment issue. It began with Will and Grace bellyaching about how small their apartment is and how much of a hassle it is to live there. By the end of the first half, they find a bigger place that is in their price range and they are overjoyed. By the middle of the second half, they realize that the hassles of the new apartment are far more then the hassles of the old. They long for their previous over-crowded digs. This episode, in a typical and highly predictable manner makes the point of "be careful what you wish for because you just might get it." If I am not making myself perfectly clear, just think back to "The Wizard of Of", "The Country Mouse and the Town Mouse" or just about half of the episode of "The Flintstones"!
