I agree BobbyG. Why did Noth leave? I hope Wheeler will stay on with Goldblum. I like her a lot and she did just return. The Goren/Eames team is a bit of a mess. Why is he turning into some Santa Clause-like, dazed creature walking around as only an undercover detective would be allowed to? He is in my opinion still overdue for an Emmy while Erbe is too flat and constantly sarcastic and cold to merit one. Still, this part of the franchise is where the interest lies. SVU has become too routine and the parent show too dull, dusty and tiresome in its constant spinning rotunda of partnered detectives and tired veterans. I wish Noth would reprise the old show Mannix. How would that be?
The last Chris Noth/Mike Logan L&O CI show just finished and it was pretty good for a season ender. As I posted a few weeks ago, I have enjoyed how the writers are portraying Logan as a great detective but increasingly aware of his own loneliness. This show brought that issue to the forefront. It also sets Wheeler up for the new season in a traditional cliffhanger storyline.
All-in-all this show continues to dodge the shark jump... although I am still concerned about the direction of the Eames/Bobby story arc.

I watched what was advertised as the last Chris Noth episode. I thought I would barf.
The man who confesses to the crime is white. The person in jail is black. This helpless black victim motif ruined the whole show. I could no longer suspend disbelief. Sure it happens in real life, but couldn't they have, just once, let it be a white person falsely imprisoned? It is getting to where I know the bad guy on almost ANY detective show--it will be the least suspected white guy. There's not suspense any more.
IF I want a sermon, I'll go to Sunday school.
They are also ruining the Goran/Eames shows by making Goran so emotional. I gave up the other 2 Law & Order shows because the preaching was so annoying. Soon I will only have sit/coms on my Tivo.

Is it true? I heard the commercial that they were going to show Detective Logan's final case on USA network. I lost interest in his shows when they had the country music singer who gave up everything to go to New York to get a Country Music agent. They were so stereotype that the boyfriend even put tobacco in his mouth.
I've lived in the south for over 15 years and never met anyone who chewed tobacco--though I'm sure someone, somewhere might.
The most absurd part of the story was that the woman decides to be a country music singer in New York City. The last I heard, people were still selling everything to become country singers in Nashville--especially the country bumpkins these people were supposed to be.

Ryan, if you have a problem with my comments then I have a simple suggestion - don't read them. Now YOU go away.
And in response to J. Shuba, you need to read my comment a little more carefully. I said I SEE arrogant, rich white kids in court frequently. I never said I defended any of them. In fact, I'm a public defender and I work almost exclusively with "blue-collar" types. That said, I don't see any sort of liberal slant to "L&O: CI" just because it portrays white juveniles from wealthy families as arrogant. In the case of this particular episode, art truly does imitate life.

"Jeez! What is it with people trying to put some sort of political spin on "CI"?"
Sam, I could say the same damn thing about "300" and "Revenge of the Sith." It got real old - real fast - hearing losers and whiners portray W as Emperor Palpatine.
Now go away.

People claiming that most L&O shows are formulaic are straight on!
For classic L&O, the guilty person 90% of the time is the richest, whitest male character between 20 & 45. AND if a woman is ever the villain, the richest, whitest male character between 20 & 45 forced her to do it in some dastardly way.
I left SVU when I saw the episode where there were pictures of a naked little girl being touched by a lesbian and the grandparents who turned the pictures over to the police were charged with a hate crime because, as the show's psycho-doc explained it, the little girl was just being introduced to her own sexual nature by the girlfriend of the kid's mother.
Sheesh!
And I stopped CI when Vincent went on his tirade against all things Republican. Just once I wish people who get upset every time the other party wins would leave America like they often threaten to.
L&O in all it forms jumped so long ago that I am often surprised to see them still on.

I prefer the Goran/Eames team both as characters and as actors but I think it was a mistake having the Goran character become "the wack job" and that, unless they redeem the character as a sane intelligent Sherlock Holmes type again, the show is over. Maybe bring back Nicole Wallace
Sucks when you get handed what you dish out, triccia honey. Hell is a two-way street toots. Hello and welcome to reality!
Is this not a forum to give your opinion on why you think a show has jumped the shark ? ,and not a love fest for Vinny D'O. If I did'nt like a certain character, or the actor playing the part then thats my opinion as to why I think it jumped the shark. So why do some people feel the need to attack ?
The show has changed alot since the first season. And ever since they went to the two team format, I lost interest. I don't know what people see in Chris Noth. His acting is boring. Couldn't stand to watch him on Law and Order either. Then when it moved to USA, I moved too, only on Goren and Eames weeks, but refused to watch on NBC. Not good enough until you had all this airtime because of the strike? You should be glad I even watch you at all. Hold on...The only thing I watch on that network is Medium. Maybe it should move to SciFi, then I can rid myself of NBC forever!
Oh, I had no idea only republicans were allowed on this site. SORRY folks. The two lawyers that recently wrote seem to have a vastly different array of clients. This is a bitter little hate site. How did Bette Davis put it in one of her films: "Why, you're nothin' but a sorry assed little bitch" and while I know I am one (I flatter myself.), many fail to see this "virtue" in themselves.
Wow - Such passion!!! Did I touch a nerve? I'm more of a Faulkner and Waugh man myself and my listening choices tend to run to Brahms and Bartok. I don't claim to be more intelligent than television but I think I can hold my own with "Two-and-a-Half Men" and 'Project Runway." Thanks for the heads-up about the coming world order. Since I will soon have "no choice" but to love the left I better polish my resume so that I can grab that job at the Ministry of Truth when it opens up. I hope we won't all have to wear those one-piece overalls because they make me look hippy.
My point was that the writing and plotting on "Criminal Intent" (like the other L&O shows) has become overly-formulaic and predictable. One sign of this is that far too many episodes take part in expensive private schools where most of the characters are simply fish in a barrel waiting to be shot. I also am a lawyer (for eighteen years) and have done a lot of criminal defense work. Sadly enough, my client list has never included the elitist (and well-paying) rich kid types that are always portrayed on the show. I normally work with the blue collar guys, gals and juveniles whose problems aren't interesting enough to rate a (non-patronizing) nod from Dick Wolf. Not that it matters. I expect to be picked up by the socialist dragnet any day now.

Jeez! What is it with people trying to put some sort of political spin on "CI"? I've been a defense attorney for 15 years now and I see the sort of arrogant, elitist rich kid portrayed in the "Legacy" episode in court quite frequently. Does that mean that this program has a "liberal slant"? Or does it tell us that truth has a liberal bias? Methinks the writer of the liberal bashing screed below needs to get out in the world more and stop watching so much Sean Hannity.
