I always thought that part in the credits where Quincy is "examining" a body, then they pull back and he's actually caressing the nubile flesh of a generic '70s chick in a bikini, should've pulled back instead to reveal...
BRETT SOMERS.
Wearing a bikini, of course, and that huge gray Marlo Thomas hair flip and those ginormous Elton John glasses she always wore on Match Game. And she'd throw back her head and laugh that raspy, boozy laugh.
God, that would've been brilliant.
Love ya, Brett.

Y'know, it amazes me that people get so freakin' attached to a show that they act as though it was beamed directly to Earth from God's hand. A show is a show. Some are crap, some are a little better, and some are actually well-done. None of that means that people should bow down in front of their television and offer sacrifice. TV shows are NOT the holy grail and they ALL have their faults.
Same goes for actors. Some are horrible, some are just ok, some are really really good. But that doesn't make them a god.
What I'm trying to say is, please check into reality once in awhile. I know you really really like your favorite show or your favorite actor; heck, you may actually love them. But don't let that take over your life and think that everything revolves around that show or actor. There are other shows out there. In fact, there's a whole world out there that has absolutely nothing to do with TV or Hollywood. Let it go. It's just a TV show.

OK, lets get one thing straight, this show is awesome. Compare it CSI. Gristle just enters all the evidence into a computer, plays chess, and comes back at the end of the show to collect the murderers name from the printer.
Could Gristle have carried out throat surgery with a stanley knife and a ball point pen? No chance.
Klugman may have been ham on the bone but who would you rather watch, him or the 'zen like' (read wooden) Gristle?
Quince is the real deal and he sprays all over CSI.

I'm happy with any show where someone can solve crime in their spare time but Quincy is the best!
It's hilarious, exciting and just entertaining. Of course it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt for modern audiences but I think it does better on tv nowadays than a lot of other shows from the same time period.
It's really fun and enjoyable even while Quincy is off on a little tangent. The characters are so easy to love and I didn't think it's settings were cheap as someone else said.
An all round brilliant show to the very end!

I liked watching Quincy very much when it first aired, and still, in re-runs. I wish more episodes were available on DVD. (I have seasons 1 & 2.)
What makes me laugh when I watch now is Quincy's "righteous indignation" (as I call it) for every issue he's investigating. That guy sure is passionate...about everything!
For the kids out there, it's a gross mistake to judge things by today's standards. The show, Quincy, has to be put in context. Back then, most leading men were pretty implausible ladies' men, and the public was a bit less jaded.
I was going to say the public was "less gullible", but I know that's actually not true, in comparisson to 2007. We used to have an honest and objective media back in the 70's. Ever since the mid-80's, when network exec's decided the news departments had to become profitable, all we get now is salacious "entertain-news", celebrity gossip, and politically- or profit-motivated spin.
I worked in the media and in advertising for many years, and what we have today is a joke. Don't even think that what you're watching, hearing, or reading in the media is factual. You'd be better off assuming it isn't, and doing real research to find the truth. It's not on the evening news or in your morning paper, that's for sure.
(blushing) Oh, my! Went off on a little tangent there, didn't I?
Uh...Quincy good, albeit a bit "quaint" for modern audiences.

Y'know, the world got along just fine afte Quincy went off the air.How was that possible? He was a one-man army for preventing plagues and contaminated water and the like from killing all of us off every week. And yet here I am all these years later to talk about it. Quincy, you got some splainin' to do.
When Kluggo unzipped a body bag and Tony Randle popped up and said, "Quincy, Quincy, Quincy!" Not very realistic, if you ask me.
this show, like Hawaii-five 0, or MacGyver, or Matlock,
or Magnum, PI, are all of the same type, stamped out like cookies by no-talent writers who spend their days smoking cigarettes. Moronic plot lines, stupid dialog, cheap interior sets, lame actors. It almost doesn't matter what is on tv, if it was written in the late 70's or early 80's, it was stupid beyond belief.

I just watched a re run and it had to be the dumbest episode of ANY TV show I have ever seen. I remembered watching the show when it first came out, but not the horrid writing and acting.
It was the episode with the little boy buried in the ground by the kidnapper. The "team" is able to come up with a sketch of exactly what a woman involved looked like. Using only the following...
They found a Blondie hair, fine,
had teeth marks from an apple, OK,
but he concluded that because they found "heavy" make up she had a scar.
With these three clues, force fed to us, they were able to draw a picture of the woman!
Luckily Quincy had met her earlier in the day and was able to tie it all together, only after they sketched a turban on her. LOL.
This all along with him flying in a helicopter, at night, and finding a pool of water to help locate the area he was buried.
BEWARE !!!SPOILER!!!
(Quincy saves the boy)
Fun is fun, but this show was sooo whacked out, complete with Quincy getting his messages while he was out, about a 1/2 dozen women called for him.
Yeah he was a real looker that one.
Anywho, although it was the father to all the CSI crap on now, it has not aged well at all.
Fun Fact...
This show was on longer than the Odd Couple !!???!!!??

Ouch. I'm not sure why there are so many strong opinions and why they are so upset. But I'll throw in my two cents worth as well. Yes, I watched Quincy and I know I enjoyed it but I wasn't blind to the fact that the show had flaws but I overlooked them to enjoy the jest of the storyline. I got educated and sometimes just enough for me to go research for myself. Isn't that what entertainment is all about? To broaden our horizons so to speak? Besides enjoying the teamwork between Quincy and Sam ... I never felt grossed out by what was going on that slab. Until I was use to it, I did have that problem with CSI ..I guess I wasn't ready for the graphics of it all. But it too is a great show to watch and it also raises alot of talk around the water cooler at work. I don't recall Quincy getting married ...I must have blanked that out but as with most shows a marriage of any kind sure changes the concept. Maybe the shark nibbled at this show ..I'm just not sure if it completly jumped it.
