Interesting comments; all valid. I still find the show watchable. My problem is that in making the characters "colorful" and "interesting", the fairly low credibility the show has suffers even more. Let's see: Jack's mother committed suicide when he was a teenager; Jack had an affair with a co-worker and subordinate while married to someone else; Martin and Danny have substance abuse problems; Sam killed a man when she was a teenager (whom she thought was attacking/raping her older sister), buried the body and never told anyone until it was forced upon her; Jack covers up that crime and bullies the whole group into going along; Delgado has an abusive ex-husband who could show up at the office anytime...Have I left anything out? Probably. In short, how did all these people get into the FBI? Don't they have a screening process? Were they desperate for people after Waco?
I used to really like Without A Trauce. But after Rosalyn Sanchez was brought into the show, I have switchted channels on several occasions simply because I cannot understand a word she says. I don't think the show can survive another season unless Sanchez is transferred, killed off, or something to get her off the show.
My problems have nothing to do about the characters or the actors

My problems are with the show itself.

I think the show is mediocre at best and that was from start to finish.

There is no missing persons unit in the FBI.

If there was one, nearly every agent in the country would sign up for it.

Missing persons cases are handled by local police who then either detail it to homicide, narcotics (if drug related) or fugitive squad. If not then the case gets buried with the city or counties two man missing persons unit that consists of the municipalities worst officers.
...I recently started watching Without A Trace and was looking for more background information on all of the characters.Instead I find cynical, jealous, rude people (possibly starving actors/actresses???) that continuously have negative comments on each and every single cast member in the show. I mean, SERIOUSLY??

You're just not rude yet because you've only started to watch the show. Watch a few more epi's and you'll be as "cynical and jealous" as we are. The show sort of just blows
You guys are all pretty rude. No one has one nice thing to say about the show's characters.

Honestly, I stumbled upon the site because I recently started watching Without A Trace and was looking for more background information on all of the characters.

Instead I find cynical, jealous, rude people (possibly starving actors/actresses???) that continuously have negative comments on each and every single cast member in the show. I mean, SERIOUSLY??

These covetous individuals should probably lay off the internet, get a few drinks, and get real.
Here's an idea: Why don't they call this show "Without a Clue"? I've never seen so much medical stuff entwined in a non-medical show! Everyone's in the hospital for something. Ok, Sam's giving birth was OK in a hospital, but for goodness sake, couldn't they at least have shown some drama to it? She goes to the hospital in labor, and the next scene she's seen holding a newborn baby with hair in an updo! My God, this reminds me of I Love Lucy where they want you to think that babies come from the stork.
I really liked the upset cheerleader. The one that said: 'Whats your problem! You were out of position!'
I think she will be a star some day.
I believe her name is Brittany Belt.
Watched it tonight and I could not believe the idiotic script. A girl who tracks down the family of the boy who's heart donation saved her life and the family gets all upset and angry! What a complete and total load of BS!

99.99999999999% of family members of heart donors would be thrilled to meet and learn about how the person their child/wife/husband's life was saved by their gift.
The problem with this show is that it only focuses on Jack and Samantha CONSTANTLY. The remaining characters are virtually ignored. And the missing persons cases are taking a back seat in place of all the turmoil and angst of Jack and Samantha.
I don't care about Samanta having a kid--its NOT INTERESTING --who cares!!!

Samantha is a whiney child, who treated Martin badly and harmed Jack's wife and children. I hate her character so much...put her on the backburner and lets get back to this show simply being a procedural about the missing people. I am so tired Samantha and how cynical and whiney she is....For a character that is so uninspiring, its shocking how much screen time she gets!
Yeah...well, a Fed that killed her step dad with a shovel, slept with her married boss, slept with a co-worker and then treated him like crap until he got tired of her and then slept with a guy she didn't know without protection and ended up pregnant...Gee!

Then Sanchez... why is she here? She adds nothing. Like Anne added nothing.

Finally, the show is no longer about the characters, it's about Jack and Jack's problems and Jack's life and Jack's broken heart and Jack's tortured sould and Jack and Jack and Jack... Seriously, La Paglia is a terrific actor but we're getting tired of Jack 24/7.
Jumped for me when I realized that two of the U.S. FBI agents were Aussies, another was a Brit, and a fourth could never have been accepted due to her incomprehensible accent (or latent hotness).
I just started watching WAT last year and I was shocked to find out there was ever any kind of romantic relationship between Sam and Jack. Talk about a couple with no chemistry. Not that I felt any between Sam and Martin either. Maybe it's Sam (Poppy). Let's be honest, her acting skills are marginal. I read that Anthony L. (Jack) won't be renewing his contract after the 2010 season because he wants to pursue owning/managing a soccer team. If that's the case, I'll be surprised if any of the other cast members resurface in anything worthwhile. They're all pretty lousy actors...even Viv and I kinda like her.
The "new girl" Roslyn Sanchez is annoying and her English is so poor that, at times, I have no idea what she's saying. There were enough characters on the show already and she wasn't needed. She should either be killed off or transferred to another office
It jumped when they broke up Martin/Sam and never mentioned their relationship again, cut down on Martin's screen time and brought on the new girl. It's the Jack show now more than it was before and is pretty much unwatchable.
I love this show.Great overall with a cast that works much better together than many a family over the past holidays.Still seems fresh, gritty and even the personal issues of said characters do not grate on ones nerves too much.Hope it lasts another few years!
